Close the Door

Matthew 6:6- But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you

The Key To Prayer – Series II
Through prayer the soul is made fat and strengthened. The windows of heaven are opened, and showers of refreshing dew, like the dew of Hermon, are rained upon the soul. It is only through prayer that the King extends unto us the golden sceptre. Without prayer the soul will weaken, become emaciated and die. He who lives in prayer reigns triumphantly. The dark storm-clouds are driven away, mountains of discouragement are levelled and cast into the sea, difficulties disappear, hope is born, faith increases and deeper joy becomes a reality.  He who is frequent and fervent in prayer experiences no alarm from the rage of Hell. It is important for one to pray until the skies are ruptured and power from above sweep over the soul. The soul is watered in such pure prayer.

Close the Door
Matthew 6:6- But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

God is in secret, hidden from the world. The world does not see Him; neither knows Him nor can know Him. He rewards things done in secret. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him in secret.  You can never reach God in your prayers unless you close the door first. Closing the door means something more than shutting the literal closet. Closing the door means closing the world, thoughts, fear, desires, etc in our hearts behind us. It means separation or detachment from things of the world. Therefore, one can enter into his closet and close the door, and yet have the world open in their hearts and mind. Prayer must come from the heart to God. The secret prayer is between your heart and the heart of God. There is indeed much blessing is such a prayer of communing between your heart and the heart of God. Such a prayer feeds the soul upon the divine life and lifts one in the realms of light and happiness. Thank Jesus for such insight about the privileges of secret prayer with Him. O dear beloved, when you pray, enter into your closet, shut off the world, forget your troubles and worry, and pour your heart unto the secret God…..To be Continued.

Prayer- Yes, dear Lord, we are yours, wholly yours, now and forever. Take full possession; live in us; reign in our hearts and mind; use every faculty of our being to thy own glory. Thy will be done in us and with us as it is in done in heaven, amen.
